AutoDS or DropMind: the maths takes two minutes

AutoDS is the best-known tool in this trade, and for some people it is the right call. Here are the real numbers and the two questions that decide it — including the ones where we come off worse.

Declaring the obvious first: DropMind is ours. Which is why what follows are AutoDS's own figures, copied from their pricing page on 30 August 2026, rather than our opinions about them. Go and check, it takes a minute.

The prices, today

Starter$39.90201–500
Advanced$66.90501–1,000

DropMind has one price: €349 once, or €29.90 a month if you would rather try it without committing. No tiers, no product ceiling.

How many stores you can run

A detail people discover late, usually right when they need it. On AutoDS the number of stores you can connect depends on the plan: up to three once you reach Advanced, which is the $66.90 a month tier.

On DropMind there is no number. You ask support for extra stores and they get enabled, at the same price: there is no higher plan to buy in order to run two, or five. Said honestly: it is not a button you find on your own inside the software, it is a message you send. But it costs you nothing.

If you plan to run more than one store, that line alone is worth more than the rest of this comparison.

The real difference: renting versus owning

Take a seller who reaches 800 products within a year — somebody, in other words, for whom things are going well. On AutoDS that is the Advanced plan.

AutoDS Advanced~$803~$803~$803~$2,408
DropMind lifetime€349€0€0€349

And the bill is not the worst part. The worst part is that the day you stop paying AutoDS, you are left with nothing: the store is yours, but the tool you ran it with never was. With a lifetime licence, if you walk away from us tomorrow, the software stays on your computer and keeps working.

First question: who holds your eBay credentials?

AutoDS is a cloud service: your store connects to their servers and they work from there. DropMind is a program running on your own computer: the token that opens your eBay account is stored there, not with us. Setting up the connection does go through a server of ours, which holds the application credentials — our privacy policy says so.

The two have opposite consequences, and both are true. They keep working with your laptop shut. We do not: while DropMind works, the computer has to be on. In exchange, the token that opens your store stays on your machine instead of living inside a service you have to trust with it.

There is no right answer here. There is the one that lets you sleep better, and it differs from person to person.

Second question: where are you starting from?

This is the part where AutoDS is stronger than us, and there is no point dancing around it.

They have an enormous catalogue of ready-made products and a training operation we do not have. If you are starting from absolute zero and want somebody else to tell you what to sell, that is a genuine advantage.

But it is an advantage you rent every month, forever. If you already know what you want to sell — and after the first few months most people do — that part quietly becomes something you keep paying for and never open.

What about the AI?

Both use it to write titles, descriptions and categories. The difference is where it runs. On AutoDS it runs on their servers and you get no say. On DropMind you decide: on your own machine, and then the text it writes never leaves your desk; or in the cloud, free on Ollama's base plan, if you would rather not tax the computer.

It is a choice they do not offer, and for some people it settles the whole comparison on its own.

When I would stay on AutoDS

  • If your computer cannot be on while you work, and that is not negotiable.
  • If you are at the very beginning and want to be walked through what to sell.
  • If the monthly cost does not bother you and you are not planning to grow much.

When I would move to DropMind

  • If the store is starting to work and you have noticed that the more you sell, the more you pay.
  • If it bothers you that your eBay credentials sit on somebody else's server.
  • If you run, or want to run, more than one store: on DropMind the price does not change.
  • If you want the AI running at your place — or at least want the choice.
  • If eBay is not your only channel: DropMind sources from ten suppliers and also publishes to Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce and BigCommerce, all included in every plan.

You can try DropMind for seven days before paying anything. Same software, no cut-down version.

A note on sourcing

AutoDS prices were read on their official pricing page on 30 August 2026, monthly billing. They change without notice: check them yourself before deciding. On their features we report what they state publicly, not what we imagine.
